‘Rat Park’ –Stuart McMillen

You’ll never think about drug addiction the same way again after reading this comic.

What I found absolutely impressive and stunning about this comic is the way the artist explained the identification and elimination of the confounding factors in the Rat Park study. This is one of the hardest parts of experiments to explain to the public, and I think it was just brilliantly done.

I redrew a couple utena fight scenes with pearl and jasper for fun but I got so excited with it that I fleshed it out into a bigger sequence! (i think it’s about half utena, half my shots. i especially had to do the flower stab scene)

I do think it’s cool that pearl and jasper are both famed war veteran dual-wielding gems, I’d love to see them challenge/talk to each other in the future

This is beautiful and perfect. I feel blessed.

Abandoned first version of HELLBOY: THE ISLAND
Story and art by Mike Mignola
Colors by Dave Stewart

“In the spirit of the old William Hope Hodgson stories. Hellboy is called up out of the sea by witches and finds himself on a spooky island surrounded by fog and wrecked ships. He finds the remains of a sailor who’s killed himself to avoid the fate of his shipmates. His diary tells the tale — despair, madness, and men turned to fungus. And, of course, that night the fungus men attack.“
